Sumunar Gamelan and Dance Ensemble from IPAAM with guest David Stenshoel on violin, perform Ladrang Turunsih, in Pelog Pathet Limo, Sunday, April 6, at F.K. Weyerhauser Auditorium in Landmark Center, St Paul, Minnesota. The title means "descendant of love" and the piece was inspired by the azan, the call to prayer by the muezzin, familiar in Muslim countries. Joko Sutrisno is the vocalist and music director of the gamelan.
